Bucket List

"The Bucket List" is a great movie. If you haven't seen it it is well worth the rental or purchase. Touched me, maybe even motivated me to think about Living Larger. I found this list that some guy had made of the 200 things to do before you die…

Thought I would check it out.

01. Bought everyone in the pub a drink-NOT A CHANCE

02. Swam with wild dolphins - WOULD BE NICE

03. Climbed a mountain - WASN'T BUILT FOR CLIMBING

04. Taken a Ferrari for a test drive - WON'T FIT

05. Been inside the Great Pyramid

06. Held a tarantula. - DOABLE

07. Taken a candlelit bath with someone - BEEN THERE DONE THAT, OH YEA!

08. Said ‘I love you’ and meant it -EVERY DAY

09. Hugged a tree - DONE, DIDN'T GET MUCH FROM IT. TREE DIDN'T HUG BACK.

10. Done a striptease - OK, YEA DID THAT BUT PROBABLY NEVER AGAIN.

11. Bungee jumped - I'M NOT CRAZY!

12. Visited Paris - NO, AND DON'T CARE TO

13. Watched a lightning storm at sea - NO, I'LL LEAVE THE STORMS TO JACK COUSTEAU

14. Stayed up all night long, and watch the sun rise - DONE THAT

15. Seen the Northern Lights - YES, POSSIBLE

16. Gone to a huge sports game - DID THAT ON THE FIELD AND OFF. NOT A BIG DEAL EITHER WAY.

17. Walked the stairs to the top of the leaning Tower of Pisa - GOOD GRIEF! THE THING IS LEANING!

18. Grown and eaten my own vegetables - YEP

19. Touched an iceberg - OH YES!

20. Slept under the stars - YES, A DONE DEAL.
21. Changed a baby’s diaper - GOOD GRIEF! WHO WOULD WANT TO DO THIS! YOU NEVER GET USED TO IT, NEVER. THE VIEW IS GREAT AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL AFFECT IS ...

22. Taken a trip in a hot air balloon - OH YES!

23. Watched a meteor shower - BEEN THERE, GREAT TIME.

24. Gotten drunk on champagne - DON'T LIKE IT, NEVER HAPPEN

25. Given more than you can afford to charity - DONE THAT, GOD IS GOOD

26. Looked up at the night sky through a telescope - YES, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE PICTURES.

27. Had an uncontrollable giggling fit at the worst possible moment - HAPPENED AND FARTED TOO.

28. Had a food fight - YES, BUT THE CONSEQUENCE WAS NOT WORTH IT.

29. Bet on a winning horse (even if it was only $1) - DON'T CARE TO

30. Taken a sick day when I was not ill - aaaaaaa OK YES, MANY.

31. Asked out a stranger - YES BUT SHE WAS GOOD LOOKING.

32. Had a snowball fight - DONE THAT AND WILL AGAIN.

33. Photocopied your bottom on the office photocopier - DON'T THINK SO, I CAN'T PAY FOR A COPIER.

34. Screamed as loudly as you possibly can - EACH DAY AFTER ABOUT THREE KIDS OR TWO PARENTS OR ONE TEACHER.

35. Held a lamb - DID THAT, IT WAS NICE

36. Enacted a favorite fantasy - I CAN'T IMAGINE ME DOING THAT

37. Taken a midnight skinny dip - WELL, YES, BUT IT HAS BEEN A SECRET TILL NOW.

38. Taken an ice cold bath - SEVERAL TIMES

39. Had a meaningful conversation with a beggar. NO

40. Seen a total eclipse. (Through one of those fourth grade cardboard “save your eyes” thingies…) - YES OF COURSE

41. Ridden a roller coaster - YES OF COURSE. AT FIVE FLAGS DALLIS.

42. Hit a home run - YES, SEVERAL. MY FIRST WA A GRAND SLAM.

43. Fit three weeks miraculously into three days - DA!

44. Danced like a fool and not cared who was looking - EVERY TIME I DANCE

45. Adopted an accent for an entire day - DOES CUSSING COUNT?

46. Visited the birthplace of your ancestors - YES, NOT IMPRESSED

47. Actually felt happy about your life, even for just a moment. YES, GOD IS GOOD.

48. Had two hard drives for your computer -WHAT FOR?

49. Visited all 50 states - WHO WOULD WANT TO?

50. Loved your job for all accounts - I WOULD RETIRE AND TAKE THAT JOB!

51. Taken care of someone who was shit faced - YES, ANY GOOD FRIEND WOULD.

52. Had enough money to be truly satisfied (maybe now?) YES, GOD IS GOOD.

53. Had amazing friends - EVERY DAY, I PRAY FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE AMAZING. GOD IS EAL GOOD.

54. Danced with a stranger in a foreign country -YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING. I'VE HEARD ABOUT THOSE FOREIGN JAILS.

STOP STOP STOP, ENOUGH! THIS PERSON MUST HAVE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE ALL THIS "STUFF" UP. I've erased the rest because ... just because.

So here are 10 things I think are worthy of any one's efforts before you die.

1. Find the love of you life. The one God made for you. - DONE THAT.

2. Have a wonderful best friend who will stand with you no matter what. - DONE THAT.

3. Ride a motor cycle 90 miles per hour and sing "Oh For A Thousand Tongues I sing." - EVERY CHANCE I GET.

4. Embrace Jesus Christ as the Savior and LORD of life. - DONE DEAL

5. Go fishing when they are biting and catch them till you run out of bait. - oh yea!

6. Experience your daughter go to sleep while lying on your chest. - A MUST. GLORY TO GOD.

7.Experience your other daughter going to sleep on your chest. - DEFINITE MUST - GREAT GLORY TO GOD.

8. Hold your grand son in your arms and cry. - SO SWEET.

9. Dive the fresh water springs of Florida. - SO FINE ON A HOT DAY.

10. Get a few letters from kids that you coached and now are grown up telling you how great you were to them. - PRICELESS! TO GOD BE THE GLORY.
