It's My Corner of Cyberworld Tuesday
I'm officially declaring it OK to ignore a brother or sister if that become absolutely nuts. Some how some of our brothers or sisters have gotten the idea that it is a responsibility of the sibling to take care of the other. I mean take care, complete total care of their sibling. No matter how many times they have screwed up. No matter how many people that have had immoral affairs with, how many experiences they have had with drugs, how many people they have hurt to get their own way, their sibling is supposed to take care of them. Hold their hand and tell them that the devil made them do it. Well, that might be true but that is still no excuse. I declare today 12/15/09 "screw 'um" day when any person can pick one brother or sister and completely ignore them, dropped them from the contact list, delete them from the phone list, "hacuna matata."

We built our own lives, not the lives of others especially when someone else has turned their back on you and the ones you love. I guess what makes them nuts is they think that someone is going to take care of them no matter what.

NOPE! NADA! NO WAY!

SORRY FRIDAY NOTE
Sorry that i have been delinquent to posting lately but I am very busy at no fault of my own. I haven't got the video of the week or My Corner of Cyber World completed. I'll try to make up soon. I do want to give you a thought in a poem of sorts that speaks loudly to Christians in America.
*Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS , Not Happy Holiday !*

Merry Xmas from Target!!
Wasn't it last Christmas that Target refused to let the Salvation Army ring their bells in front of their stores?
Dick Forrey of the Vietnam Veterans Association wrote.'Recently we asked a local TARGET store to be a proud sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during our spring recognition event. We received the following reply from the local TARGET management: ' Veterans do not meet our area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education.' So I'm thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and veterans in general, do not meet their donation criteria, then something is really wrong at this TARGET store. We were not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just a small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance. As a follow-up, I E-mailed the TARGET U.S. Corporate Headquarters and their response was the same. That's their national policy. Then I looked into the company further. They will not allow the Marines to collect for 'Toys for Tots' at any of their stores.. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would not allow families of employees who were called up for active duty to continue their insurance coverage while they were on military service.. Then as I dig further, TARGET is a French-owned corporation. Now, I'm thinking again. If TARGET cannot support American Veterans, then why should my family and I support their stores by spending our hard earned American dollars! And, have their profits sent to France

Without the American Vets, where would France be today? 'They, most likely would be speaking German and trading in Deutsch Marks'.
sincerely, Dick Forrey Veterans Helping Veterans.

MCCW TUESDAY OOPS WEDNESDAY

NEW RULE IN WALDEN WORLD: DON'T CUSS ME!

Where do people get the idea that folks can cuss at me and and me not take it personally or cuss you back. Now if you cuss me and I've done something wrong to you and it is one of the recognized wrongs in Walden World then I'm probably going to apologize but if it's not a recognized wrong in Walden World then be prepared!

Cussing is something I do not like to do and I try not to do. I think it is a weakness of a person. Weak vocabulary, weak character, and weak patience. Now if you bring me to cuss then "my bad", but that don't mean that there won't be collateral damage. Be prepared!

With that said I must say this, "thy word hath I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my spirit be pleasing to you LORD."

Sorry, LORD. Let's please not cuss but if you do, please don't cuss me or provoke me to that low level of action.

It has to be said by some one...

Starner Jones, MD

I am a seventh generation Mississippian and wanted to come back here after going somewhere else for college and medical school. My extracurricular interests are golf, hunting, fishing and college football.
.
This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America —in large bold letters. This was a "letter to the editor" in August 29th Jackson , MS newspaper.
.
Dear Sirs:
"During my last night's shift in the ER, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a shiny new gold tooth, multiple elaborate tattoos, a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and a new cellular telephone equipped with her favorite R&B tune for a ring tone. Glancing over the chart, one could not help noticing her payer status: Medicaid. She smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and, somehow, still has money to buy beer. And our Congress expects me to pay for this woman's health care? Our nation's health care crisis is not a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. It is a crisis of culture — a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. A culture that thinks "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me". Life is really not that hard. Most of us reap what we sow.
.
Don't you agree?

STARNER JONES, MD Jackson , MS
????? right!

MY CORNER OF CYBER WORLD

NEW RULE: It will be against WALDEN WORLD rules to do anything else to upset the art of the game of " College football." It is OK to screw up PROFESSIONAL BALL all you want but DO NOT MESS WITH COLLEGE BALL.

Instant replay, daaaaa, the game of college football used to be a beautiful, artful thing. There wasn't any of this "you made a mistake let's check to see if you saw what you think you saw." The referees are a part of the game! Just like the weather, injuries, and stupid coaches decisions. Gone are the days of real football. Next thing you know we'll have a new rule called the "DO OVER RULE." If you miss a field goal you get a "DO OVER." Make a stupid decision, OK coach take a "DO OVER." Some body slips and falls or the ball slips out of someone grip, sorry didn't mean for that to happen I call "DO OVER."

How about that throwing the ball away when you are out of the tackle box? GOOD GRIEF! Quarterbacks may be important and we all want them to stay healthy but are they playing the game too. We tell defensive lineman "now now don't hit the quarterback." PLEASE!! This is not practice. This is the game. Next thing folks will do is make linemen wear weights so they all weight the same. We'll call this "the your guys are bigger than my guys rule" or "your guys are faster than my guys rule."

GOOD GRIEF!!! It is getting where if you really want to see a good game that has few excuses that are generated by folk outside the game you have to go to the corner lot where your neighbor hood is playing my neighbor hood.

Veterans Day - a legal holiday observed in commemoration of the end of hostilities in 1918 and 1945.

VETERAN - A person who has long time experience in the armed forces.

I'm not a "vet" but I'm well represented by my family. My uncle Hubert Anglin was in the Navy in the Pacific during WWII. He survived that war. My uncle Wendall Anglin was Airborne Army "parachuter" in Europe during WWII. He survived. My Uncle Wayburn Anglin was in the Army in Europe during WWII. He didn't make it home... died in a forest in Germany. My Dad was in the Army in Europe during WWII. He Drove in the "Red Ball Express."

I'm proud of my family that were a part of the American forces. Very proud, but there are others that make me stand in honored of the Veterans in my life.

The war that effected me most was the Vietnam War. It was my time, the time when I was young and had friends there and some didn't make it home. Most did make it back but they all left something in that country. It brings tears to my eyes and sadness to my soul to think about Vietnam. Perhaps I should had gone to Nam but I didn't because my draft number was 126. The year of my draft group the draft went through 123. Didn't bother me back then because no one wanted to go to Nam, well, no one with any sense. It was when I got to college and was playing football that I met a Sargent in ROTC that told me stories, real stories of what was really happening in Vietnam. From then on I've felt like I was suppose to go with my friends, that I might have let one of them down by not being there with them.

When I see how war has affected so many that made that journey into the face of death I am so thankful, but i hurt for them too. We who have not experience the sacrifice and hurt that war brands on lives cannot honor Vets enough.

It bothers me today that our nation has taken advantage of our armed forces with out repaying Vets for what they give willingly. Make God for us for not honoring these folk more and repaying them in every way available.

God bless the Veterans of the United States of America.

My Corner of Cyber World
MCCW
New rule of my choosing because it is my corner of cyber world.
Law: Do what you are told to do.
Consequence for not complying: the employee will lick the stripes on the highway north from the corporation limits of Ridgeland MS to Canton MS beginning at 5:38 each Saturday morning until compliance is met.
Stupid people that get certified to be a teacher should teach students effectively and follow instructions given by an administrator who has more training and is responsible for the goings on of the school or get the heck out of the school. To these folk, their job is a pay check and nothing else.
So to those three drawing a pay check at my school, get the heck out!
WHO AM I?
I'VE BEEN INSPIRED TO SHARE SOME OF THE LIFE OF THE "SCREWYISH" PERSON I KNOW. ME SO FOR A WHILE BESIDES MY REGULAR STUFF I'M GONG TO SHARE SOME OF ME. IF THAT'S NOT OK THEN CHECK OUT THE HISTORY CHANNEL!
IT WON'T BE AS FUN OR SURELY REVELING BUT YOU WILL LEARN STUFF.
I was born at a very early age but don't remember to much about it. The first thing I remember is my front yard. Not much about it but I had a front yard. So first thing to share is special memories:
1. I remember my first kiss. I mean real kiss, not like kissing somebody good bye. I mean kissing somebody HELLO!. I was 15 and she was a year older than I was. I think I liked it so much I decided to make it a hobby, but to this day I am convinced that she kissed me. Oh Lord, I do believe that and I'm embarrassed to confess it cause you know guys like to ... well let's move on.
2. I remember the second kiss. I mean a real kiss not like a good night kiss. I was 16 and my hobby had not gone quiet as well as I had hoped. She was a cutie that I had known for a while. We had double dated and i had walked her to the house. We arrived at the steps and before I could thank her for a fun evening she jumped onto the second step and BAM! That's right my first "run baby run" kiss. To this day I don't remember whether or not I actually opened the door to the car or just went through the window.
3. I remember my first funeral. It was my Mom's dad, Pa. Several not so good memories from that funeral, actually I have no good memories from that.
4. I remember my hardest funeral of all. The funeral of my best "friend-dad", "Heavy" Malone. I've written about him before. For me the world was always better with him in it because i knew i could go to him and he would help. I missed spending time with him after he left our church because I thought I would bring bad memories to his mind. I never share with him about my depression and abuse. I thought he would think less of me. How stupid it that. I should have realized he was handling life better than I ever would. Maybe the saddest day of my life. Makes me cry.
5. I remember my first date with an angel. Chinese food and lots of laughs. WOW!
6. I remember standing over my daughters each at a single point in their early lives when I gave them back to God and began to pray for their husbands.
7. I remember sitting by my daughters beds when they opened their lives to Christ and became Christians. Both at the age of 6 and 6 1/2 years of age. WOW! I was there, I was there!
8. I remember my first car. 60 Chevy Impala, glass all the way around and enough knobs that I would have no problem disguising a microphones so I could record my dates and what they would say about me.
9. I remember my first dog, a fox terrier named Pogo. When I got him he had seed ticks on his face so bad that when I got them off the hair on his face and head fell out. He was a great great dog. He died my freshman year in college from cancer. He had been my best friend for a long time.
10. I remember a four down stand on the one yard line when we kept a team from scoring and i made 3 of the tackles. WOW it was neat!
