An Honest Dollar For A Honest Day's Labor

An honest dollar for an honest day's labor? When does that happen? Maybe where you work but I don't see it in many folk. It appears that we should ask employees if they are willing to take "this much" to do "this." Why not say if you get this job this is what we expect from you. When did we cross the line where we have to tell some one what the minimum we expect from them. If you want the job then do the job. Do what you are getting paid for. Don't say stuff like "I don't do that." Don't challenge authority, good grief! It's a question of doing what is right.
Jesus was questioned about paying taxes once. He asked for a coin and ask whose picture was on it. The people answered Ceasar's. Jesus told them "then give to Ceasar what is Ceasar is due but give to God what God is due (the Walden translation)." The way I see it Jesus' way is the "RIGHT" way, so don't short those who have authority over you on the "job".

It's not a money thing, it's an honor and an acceptance of authority thing. So read into that this, if you aren't going to do your job after you are given the job then I will question your "honor" and certainly your "character."

If you don't mind people thinking that way about you, then short cut your boss and the organization you work for.

"Character is hard to hide."
