BACK WITH A REASON
Well, you are probably wondering what prompts the old fart to return to the Walden World Blog. Right, of course right. Got this from my mail and just had to comment on it since it seems that so many folk want to discuss a boy from Oregon moving to Mississippi. Now I will admit that it is not a ride I’d make but there has to be a reason for this ride.
HERE'S THE ARTICLE-
Pimps still rock the SEC ask Houston Nutt"
You’ve just embraced a law-breaking, bad seed quarterback who was dumped from the Oregon program for a few things that really don’t reflect the rah-rah spirit of college football. Jeremiah Masoli pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor burglary charge in March and was booted from Oregon after a marijuana possession charge ended with a guilty plea. But hey, there are plenty of third chances to be had at the University of Mississippi. Masoli hooked up with Ole Miss a few days ago. “I spent a great deal of time with him,” Nutt told SI.com’s Andy Staples. “I really feel that I can help him and he can help us.” Could it be that Nutt was in a pinch because he only had two quarterbacks after highly-touted quarterback Raymond Cotton decided to transfer
Did you think we’d get far without a list? Of course NO.
Reasons “Duck” Masoli is moving to Oxford Mississippi:
1. The girls are better looking that “ducks” in Oregon.
MAYBE
2. To experience the southern exotic foods. Grits and BBQ.
AGREED
3. Security is not as tight at fraternity houses at Ole Miss.
TBA
4. Better weather.
Oops, the index today was 109.
5. The uniforms at Ole Miss are sharper than Oregon’s.
NO WAY!!
6. Personal relationship with a man of character like Houston Nutt.
????
7. Chance to spend “lots of time” with a person of high morals like Houston Nutt.
??????
8. Chance and certainty of being HELPED by Houston Nutt.
????????
9. Chance to get away from the bad influence of those old friends living in northwest United States.
AGREED
10. Traded Jason Cotton a lap top computer for the QB position.
OOPS!
Let’s be real, why would this kid come to Mississippi from Oregon unless it’s to play professional football. He could play ball at dozens of schools between MS and Oregon. He comes to Ole Miss, right, they get a chance to win a few more games than they would have and “Duck” gets noticed by playing in the SEC, the world greatest football conference. That’s the bottom line.
Now next to the bottom line is that Houton Nutt screws the pooch. You gotta ask the question when do you honor and respect those that honor and respect. How about those guys who pay the price and live the life. The ones those little kids want autographs from because they want to be just like them. on the field and OFF. The ones that have been through those days with indexes of 109 before.
Good grief Houton, why did you leave the “razorbacks”, I forget. The point for me is that you draw a lot of negative press for Mississippi, the state that is. Do me a favor, move to New Jersey or better Mexico.
To me there’s just something about someone having to pay for their mistakes. Something about a lesson learned. Jeremiah, you got your undergraduate degree for free by playing football at Oregon. Then you just screwed up. It doesn’t appear to me that you’ve pay you dues for a poor decision and maybe a few others. Do you have some surprises for us?
Lastly I should say shame on all of you that are keeping the real secret to why poor Jeremiah is coming to Mississippi and Houton Nutt is sacrificing a degree of the integrity of the Ole Miss Football program. The real reason for such a this long ride is to WIN football games and nothing else. WIN at all cost!
Good Grief!! What has happened to college athletics?
