PLEASE STAND UP, PLEASE
I recently saw a picture with the caption that read, "the only guy standing is the one in the wheel chair." The picture was a parade with the American flag being carried by and the only person in the crowd showing respect to the stars and strips was an cripple old man. I guess some folk wouldn't get it but it's clear to me. That flag represents my Uncle Wayburn who died in Germany during WWII and the many friends that died in Viet Nam. I guess some just don't get it but they probably never lost someone who fought for freedom. I have to stand in honor of the "Flag."
Recently I got an e-mail from a friend who is rather political. The e-mail was about standing up for the president. I guess it is fashionable these days and be radical when it comes to political matters. Not me, I try not to be fashionable in any situation. Here it is.
"I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama.

Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I AM NOT uniting behind Obama!

I will continue to respect the office that he holds and I acknowledge his ability as a good public speaker (but only with total reliance on teleprompters) and I will pray for him, BUT that is it! I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that he is a one-term President!

Why am I doing this?
 It is because I do not share Obama's vision for a socialist America.
 I do not share his radical beliefs on abortion.
 I do not share his radical Socialist concept of re-distributing wealth.
 I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make $150,000+ (this ceiling has changed three times since August).  I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%.
 I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage.
 I do not share his spiritual beliefs, whatever they are (at least the ones he has made public) they change periodically. In an interview he once said "my Muslim beliefs." Atheist mother and Muslim father...who knows?
 I do not share his socialist agenda of nationalizing the U.S. health care system.
 I do not share his strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran. Many see him as weak and ineffective.
 I resent his derogatory, anti-American comments about America on foreign soil!
 I resent him telling foreign countries that "America is not a Christian nation"!!!
 I resent his weak, unpresidential behavior by bowing to a Muslim king and then flat lying about it when the media caught it on tape!
Does he think Americans are blind and stupid? Well, Mr. Obama, we're NOT!

Bottom line, my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my God to do what is right! So, I will stand up and fight back against Obama's unprecedented power grab with his polices and agendas that I deplore!

For eight years, the Liberals in our society, led by many entertainers who would have no platform or no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family and his spiritual beliefs!

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country! They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except those who disagree with them!

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years. They have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country!

They have made every effort to remove the name of God or Jesus Christ from our society! They have challenged capital punishment, yet they think the brutal and barbaric slaughter of the most innocent, the unborn, is alright! And, they disparage and say hateful and vicious things about anyone who doesn't agree with their murderous beliefs! they challenge the right to bear firearms and the most basic principles of our criminal code. They have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech! Unite behind Obama? Never!!!

I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of Evil! Obama is a curse on this nation and he will bring her down if he's allowed to! Wake Up America!!

PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his Presidency, and I am not sure how history will judge him. However, I believe that he was a man of morals and he weighed his decisions in light of the long- established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!!!

Majority rules in America, and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and "his goals for America."

I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country!! Any more compromise is more defeat!

I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist-Marxist, anti-God crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America!

"Error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it." (Thomas Jefferson)

God bless you and God bless our Country!!! And God save us from Barack Hussein Obama."
Well there you have it. There are a lot of things that will not be mentioned about these few words copied from an e-mail, but there must be one thing added. This message could have been read from the steps of our national monuments and no one would have lost his life for speaking his heart, his beliefs or a combination of the two. This is the United States of America and there is no other nation big or small like it in the world.
Maybe there should be one more thing to say that's not said. You can "stand up" if you want to or maybe not.

Black History Programs

You might talk with some folk who express their displeasure with Black History programs. Well, I'm one of those but for a different reason than most folk would think with their "first thought." I'm called a racist at least 3 or 4 times a month because I issue consequences for poor behavior and don't give in to people who want things their way but I'll stand on my record and my relations with black folk as well as white folk. So I'd like to share some of my basic beliefs as they relate to black folk and black history programs.

1. FACT: black folk, as US History goes have been done a great injustice. No one should be force into a life of slavery, no one should be forced to serve any one without proper reward. Even with that no one should be allowed to become a slave to anything that keeps them from being all they can be.

2. FACT: there is but one true God. His word tells us to love others as we would love our selves.

3. FACT: there is only one National Anthem. It is meant for all Americans no matter what color. The fact that you would select an additional national anthem indicates to me that "THE" United States of America is not good enough for your group whether it is because of your color or religion or shoe size. I kinda feel like inserting the "America. Love It or Leave It" bumper sticker here. "Lift Up Every Voice" is a beautiful song but National Anthem????

4. FACT:Black children need role models to look up to and they shouldn't all be sports figures or musical stars. Where are the fathers? Where are the successful black figures when the youth are walking the streets at night when they should be in the bed alone sleeping in preparation for getting their education. Step up to the plate or loose an entire generation.

5. FACT: our government has place the largest chain around our black children by providing them with "checks" that are almost never used in the way they are intended. The United States of American has placed a dependence on black people that is as dependent as "crack" and as the affect probably more long lasting. Welfare?? If a person doesn't work for what they get then they will never work to get what they need.

These are just a few of my beliefs but how about the way many organizations approach Black History programs.

1. All of our children not just black ones, have not been taught to behave in any kind of program. Their attention is elsewhere. Whether they just want to make fun of their friends on stage, play with their phones or just chat to the person 4 rows over. Of course those who are "monitoring" these kids are at the point that they are afraid to say anything to them because of their behavior towards them of their parents behavior towards them. The apple don't fall to far from the tree.

2. Programs should be "short", to the point and be done. "You lost them" after the 4th poem.

3. Be sensitive to the entire audience. To make some stupid statement about white folk when they are sitting in a Black History program because they choose to be apart of a profession that doesn't pay them what they are worth, in a profession where they are abused by parents and students daily, well character is hard to hide.

4. Shouldn't we be teaching black history daily along with white, yellow, red, and blue history. How about teaching human history instead of categorizing special groups.

Please don't forget to honor all tribes of the earth, but please don't put me down because I'm white and you are another color until you know where I come from and what's inside my heart. I think when you look into my heart you'll like what you see and things won't be just a matter of color.
